Summit's range of service cranes are rated to lift from 3,000lbs to 14,000lbs, providing both versatility and stability.
Below are some of the exceptional features of our cranes.
Planetary winch provides up to 60' per minute single line speed
Stainless steel pivot pins lower maintenance and extend life
400° power rotation
Dual-acting counterbalance valves integrated into cylinders
Greaseless bushings are easier to service and are maintenance-free
2-stage hydraulic extensions - no manual extensions (on model 6620 and larger)
Hexagonal booms are stronger and eliminate boom flex and slop
20' of hydraulic reach - 28' of reach on models 5728, 10628 and 14528
Added cable guides
Unique anti two block device
Proportional and multifunctional radio remote control provides ultimate control of crane, without cumbersome cords.
Rechargeable battery system and magnetic stow feature included.
Service Crane Q&A
Q: What advantage does a planetary winch provide over a worm drive winch?
A: The most notable advantage is in winch efficiency. Planetary winches provide up to three times the line speed of competitive worm drive winches, while still providing the same lifting capabilities. This means more speed, more lifting power, and best of all, more productivity.
Q: Why does Summit use hexagonal boom designs on its heavy-duty cranes?
A: Because they are stronger and self-aligning. In the field, this means you will have less boom flex under load, and less boom slop when rotating the cane.
Q: How does Summit achieve 20' of hydraulic boom extension when the competition only provides 16'?
A: This is accomplished with dual extension cylinders. We found that while some manufacturers offer manual extensions to 20', these extensions were seldom used. They were either left extended or retracted, and when they were used, they were usually very tight and nearly impossible to operate manually. To cure this, we made a commitment to making two hydraulic extensions a standard feature on our heavy-duty cranes.
Q: Can I control functions other than my crane from my radio remote?
A: Yes! In addition to fully proportional crane functions, your radio remote has for option functions. These are often used for compressor on/off, engine start/stop and engine speed control. That still leaves one additional option you can use for whatever you like.
